Celestron COSMOS 90GT

In 2014, Celestron released a short-run line of computerized scope called the COSMOS 90GT (Celestron part number 22094).  This is the direct predecessor to the Astro Fi series discussed in my book, The NexStar User's Guide II.  As with the Astro Fi, the COSMOS 90GT was sold without a hand control, although it is compatible with the NexStar version 4, NexStar+ and StarSense hand controls.

Also like the Astro Fi, it has a built-in WiFi module allowing the scope to be controlled via an app running on a smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS).  The manual discusses an app called Cosmos Celestron Navigator which has since been replaced by Celestron's SkyPortal app.  It can also be controlled with SkySafari Plus or SkySafari Pro.

Beyond that, the main differences between the COSMOS 90GT and Astro Fi are that the COSMOS only has a single AUX port compared to the Astro Fi's two, and COSMOS has an older WiFi module that has shorter range than the one found in the Astro Fi.
